Building Stronger Communities: Early Childhood Resource Center’s Impact Featured Nationally

The Annie E. Casey Foundation recently released a powerful new video spotlighting the Early Childhood Resource Center’s work to strengthen family child care in Akron. This video highlights how investing in family child care providers opens doors for working families and helps entire communities thrive—and it features the impact the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) team is making right here in Northeast Ohio.

This national recognition is the result of the ECRC’s ongoing partnership with the Fund for Our Economic Future and the National Fund for Workforce Solutions (NFWS). Through this funded initiative, ECRC is helping 15 dedicated family child care providers build leadership, business and advocacy skills—equipping them to grow as entrepreneurs, while expanding access to much needed affordable, quality care in their neighborhoods.

ECRC Early Childhood Specialist Brittany Young has been leading this work with energy and passion. Brittany—like the entire team—empowers providers to recognize their vital role in the community and to collaborate in ways that create lasting, transformative change for young children and families.

We are thankful that the Annie E. Casey Foundation has not only backed this overall initiative, providing funding and expert guidance, but also that they were so inspired by the impact of the project they decided to showcase it to help spread the word nationwide. We are proud to see ECRC’s mission and work shining on this larger stage. ECRC is not just supporting child care providers, it’s strengthening families, uplifting communities and building a brighter future for children.
